Arrive and be greeted at Kotoka International Airport in Accra and transfer to the deluxe Labadi Beach Hotel on the beach.  The Labadi Beach Hotel is a breathtaking fusion of rich African heritage.  In addition to traditionally decorated, spacious rooms with balconies, the hotel boasts 2 pools, free Wi-Fi, fitness center  and Spa.  In the evening, enjoy a Welcome Dinner, Orientation, and African Naming Ceremony with traditional entertainment. Embark on Accra city tour visiting sites of interest such as the National Museum, DuBois Center and Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park. After lunch, visit the famous Arts Center, the crafts and souvenir market.  Return to your hotel by late afternoon. Another evening visit by dressmakers and tailors to display and sell clothing at the hotel.

After breakfast and hotel checkout, enjoy photo opportunities as we drive past the Elmina fishing harbor and the St. George’s Castle, the first slave castle to be built on the Gold Coast in 1482. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Monument and the largest European-built edifice during the period of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade. It is also the oldest surviving European building south of the Sahara. We then travel to the Rain Forest belt in the Kakum National Park. Activities include a visit to a mini museum, walking tour of the forested vegetation environment where you will learn the names and uses of tropical African plants. The youthful will climb the Canopy Walkway and walk along a chain of hanging bridges that enable visitors view the forest from treetops. We will have lunch at a local restaurant in Cape Coast before returning to Accra by late afternoon.

Visit the more than 100-year-old Botanical Gardens at Aburi, located on the Akwapim Ridge, north of Accra, and learn about tropical plants and their uses. Continue to the nearby Craft Village to shop for souvenirs and hand-crafted items. Lunch is at a Riverfront Resort located on the banks of River Volta. After lunch, visit the site of Ghana’s first hydro-electric dam at Akosombo. View the Volta Lake, one of the largest man-made lakes in the world for a photo opportunity. This evening, enjoy dinner, music, art and culture at the Sandbox Beach Club, a three-level, elegant oasis on the beach for a wonderful night out – this activity is optional.

After breakfast, we visit the King David School at Teshie in the morning for a cultural exposition by children of the community. Join in the traditional dancing designed to welcome you to Ghana. Deliver school supplies and your gifts for the school and students. We then visit the world-famous casket shop before having lunch.After lunch, explore various shopping centers such as the Artist Alliance and Osu for last minute shopping. Join the Farewell Dinner featuring Cultural Entertainment at the hotel.
